Active Directory - Integrate with Oracle or LDAP?

We have user information (login name and password) stored in an Oracle database which in turn replicates to LDAP.

Some of our internal applications authenticate users agains the Oracle or LDAP dependent on their needs.

Our sys admin would like all our PC users to also go against the above data when authenticating users to a PC.

All of our PCs are windows based and can easily be hooked up to an Active Directory.

Is there a good way to pass the data already stored in the Oracle or LDAP to Active Directory. Is there a piece of software we have to purchase?

Would it be easier to replicate data from Oracle to Active Directory or from LDAP to Active Directory?

i am not sure the 3rd party tools to sync orcale and AD, but i do believe a little porograming can help u. 'coz AD is ldap v3 compliance, if u are using win2k3, that's be easier done by ADAM feathure.

On Windows 2000 servers running AD, the command-line tools CSVDE and LDIFDE can be used to import/export data to/from Active Directory. If you can get your LDAP data exported to a file then you could import it into AD. Alternatively, there may be some sort of LDAP connector tool/interface that you could find to do this automatically. But be advised that what you are suggesting is actually the reverse of what typically is done.

In most cases you will build an AD domain that your users use to log in/authenticate to the network. Then subsequent applications that can use LDAP for authentication can query the AD servers via standard LDAP queries for authentication. We use this for databases, proxy authentication, etc.
