Active Directory /DHCP Questions!

Hey Gurus,

2 quick questions: I'm a bit confused..

I'm upgrading Win NT 4.0 PDC in a test environment, this installation was a restore from my existing PDC, and have gotten to the Active Directory Wizard. The next step is to choose the domain role. The choices are:

Create a new domain tree. or Create a new child in an existing tree.

I'm thinking create a new domain tree.. Upon choosing this option, the next 2 choices are: Create a new forest or join an existing forest. Here I'm thinking create a new forest.This is where I'm getting confused.

The 2nd question is this: How do you go about converting the DHCP database to the Windows 2000 format. I'm getting this error in the event log that specifies this and I'm not familiar with this procedure.

If you have no other W2K DCs in the domain yet, then you want to make this DC your first, and that would be first tree, first forest.
