Hello. I found this site while doing a search for Active Directory forums. I have been asked to do something, and I don't even know if it is possible, let alone how to do it. So, I figured that asking people was the best way to find out.

So, here goes: Is there a way to use Active Directory in order to create a sort of personnel directory? As in, a manager could log in, and view the personnel files of all those under him? Not necessarily entire personnel files, but names, pictures, and important fields?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

I am thinking that you need to set access control properties on your objects. For instance, you want read access on pictures for managers, but not salary info.

Take a look at this:
You will want to take care in setting up your AD structure so that you can accompish what you want.
