Hi,

I'm using CRW8.0 professional. I'm having troubles on using CRW with active directory. Could you please anwser the following questions?

1) Can Crystal join data from 2 diferent database?
2) Can Crystal generate data from Active Directory?
3) Can I join Sybase dat with Active Directory data to from a report?

Please help.
Thanks,

Hi,

I just got a reply from Crystal technical support and here is the answer for the questions above.

1) Yes, Crystal can access data from Microsoft active directory services
as OLE_DB is an open standard.

2) Yes, for sure that Crystal can join data from different databases. Just make sure that both sources are supported by Crystal and that the 2 tables being joined have a 'linking field'. (the *.db databases must have a relationship with one another)

Don't know if there's anybody interest in this topics, hope that this can be a reference for other crystal users.

cheers,

ciel220: Thanks for posting the response - a word of caution - if you want to use 2 different sources of data in 1 report the method of connection to both MUST be ODBC/OLE_DB or the report won't work. You will not be able to mix Sybase and Active Directory unless you use OLE_DB for both David C. Monks
