We are using Windows 2000 on our servers. When we add a new user we always get the message that the home directory was not created b/c it already exists. We have created the home directory first b/c we get a message that the home directory does not exist if we don't create it first. Does anyone have any suggestions? It works fine but we just get that message each time.

How are you entering the home directory? If you use \\server\sharename\%username% it will create the directory, name it after the user, and give only the user and administrators access to it. Marc Creviere

Check out Dell's Hints and Tips web site, it has all about managing and creating users in AD. Go to enter your type of system, or just choose one of the Power Edge line, then choose Solutions, and then Hint and Tips, then under the Windows 2000 section in Windows 2000 server administration, they have from installing AD to creating PTR files.
