Active backup job hangs as "Pending"

Hi,

I am running BE 7.3 on Windows NT Server, and occasionally the backup jobs do not run and just hang with a status of pending. There is no information in the event log that states why the job will not run and the job is clearly scheduled to run?? Any ideas??? Thanks...
