Activate TDA50 Music On Hold, from outside source?

So, I plugged a music source into the BGM port on the KX-TDA50 and selected the BGM source in maintenance console. However, when a call is present and I press "Hold", nothing happens on the outside end and, I get dial-tone from the phone system (inside) as if I'm being prompted to dial an extension to transfer the call.
Any input?

If you set bgm1 as external you also have to set moh to bgm1
