It isn't that hard..you just have to try and ask questions and try and ask questions and try again.

Start with little things,and move on to more advanced stuff.
I had some problems in the beginning to (a month or 3 ago), but thats just until you start to see how it all hangs together. I started with a rotating button. (you know,the one when you move over it, they rotate until you move your mouse away from it)
Then later on I tried the bouncing ball in flash (I got A LOT of help here (thanks guys!)).
Then moving objects around etc...
I didn't know squad about flash when I started, but after a month of intensive playing with it,I now am capable of doing some cool stuff.. (check my site,its still basic and a little buggy but I'm still working on it. Thats the result of a month playing around, also look at mybouncy under games.
and be a little patient, because I havn't got a preloader yet

The most important thing when learning flash (or any other language) is that you set a clear goal (easy in the start) like the rotating button, and then try to let it work. The small successes will give you the courage to continue.
