I am having to setup 8 new sales people on our ACT database. 6 of them are going to be remote users that are going to connect to a shared folder through a VPN. I am a little confused on what the synchronization settings should be for the Admin and the rest of the the remote users. Each user has a folder out on the network drive that sync packets will be sent to by the administrator and each user will send a sync packet back to a Sync folder on the network drive.

In the synchronization setup I get confused when ACT asks me where to look for the Recieved packets on each of the remote user machines. For the remote users do I tell ACT to look on thier individual folders that they have on the network drive or should I point it to their local C:\Program Files\ACT\Sync folder? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

oneilltnc,

I have just set up this type of syncing. Each remote users workstation should point to their own folder for receiving syncs on the server, ie f:\actsyncs\To Remote User 1, etc... For sending syncs, I use f:\actsyncs\To Server. The Interact knowledge base has a lot of information on how to set this up. I recommend you search their site for the details. There are several articles you will need.

Hope this helps.
