Act sync problems

I am running ACT 6 (the latest update)and use Companionlink Professional to sync to my Ipaq 3970. I use Ipaq Diect and Act 6 as my settings.

I have a database that I had synched with before using Act link. But now with the new configuration as soon as I try and sync I get the following message.

Companionlink Professional:
The Act database could not be opened.
Please open it at least once in the current version of ACT! to convert it to the current version.

Any ideas on how to fix this please?
