ACT! Scheduler Error (apfw 2007 - 9.0)

Hi, Running APFW 2007 (9.0) on a Windows 2000 server. When trying to load the ACT Scheduler utility the following error message appears:

"ACT! Scheduler Error. Error occurred while loading server config file. Root element is missing. Contact administrator for assistance"

Well, I am the admin and I have no idea. I searched the KB on sage's website but found nothing. I did find some kb article for ACT 2006, but it was not pertinent to this issue.

The actual ACT! application continues to work fine. But, I am now unable to schedule DB maint and backups.

Anyone ever get this error before or have an idea of how to resolve it?

My guess would be a damaged preferences file.

Make sure you've applied the latest patch and rebuild the preferences files as in the kb article that you found
