hello,

i would like to know how to delete the ACT menu option that appears in word. I tried deleting it throught he customize option in word, but the ACT menu came back after saving the changes to normal.dot in word.

Hello Mike,

I already have the word processor set to ACT!

I had already run the repair tool and replaced the normal.dot file with the one from the image I created right before installing ACT!, prior to posting the plea for help.

I checked the disabled items dialog box and there is no items in the box.

I checked the macro setting in Word and it was already set to high.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What version of ACT! and Word? There are different locations for thedifferent combinations.

Question: If you are using ACT!, why do you want the menu removed from Word? Then you can't use Word to run merges...

Hi Mike,

I am using ACT! 2007 and Word 2003.
The reason I want it removed is because I believe that is what caused Word to start taking the better part of a minute to open. Prior to installing ACT!, I did not have this problem.

Hmmm... I'm not sure how to remove in in Word 2003, but it's only a menu macro and doesn't touch ACT! when loading and no-one else has found it to be an issue that I've heard of, so I would suspect that it's something else that's causing the slow-down

I uninstalled ACT! and went into the registry and deleted everything I could find that had anything to do with ACT! and now Word opens just as fast as it did prior to installing ACT!. The only thing that I could come up with is that ACT! didn't like the menu customizations that I've made in Word.
