We're using Act! 2006 Version 8.0.2.82 and we are doing a Mail Merge to send out a number of individualized emails to our recipient list. The problem is that when the recipients get their email when they open it up they get a Windows Internet Explorer error that states "One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either 1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of these controls. As a result, this page may not display correctly.

We aren't trying to send any ActiveX components as a part of our emails and we can't figure out how to clear this up on our end. When you click ok on the box the email comes up fine so we can't figure out where the problem is. I've tried searching this database and have found the same question without any answers yet.

We have been doing a series of tests to try and pinpoint this error. It seems that when we use a template, and send it to a group, is when the recipient gets an ActiveX error. If we use that same template and send it to only one person, either via a mail merge or otherwise there is no error.

Please help as we would like to not have this error show up for our subscribers.

Thanks for that link. I had come across that site before and had implemented the second half of their instructions because I didn't want to get involved in an alternate word processor. So today I tried the word processor because it seems to be the only other answer.

The difficulty now is getting the formatting to appear correctly for our recipients. In the act word processor the text is all nicely spaced out and at the correct horizontal alignment and when it is received the lines overlap and none of the horizontally aligned text in the heading lines up.

Thanks for the tip, our ActiveX error is gone and our fear of an alternate word processor has been confirmed. Do you have any recommendations for getting the text in the Act! word processor to produce good looking emails for the recipients?

High Impact 4.0 at is a great program that works well with ACT databases as well (at least versions 6.0 thru 9.0)
