Act IMA files ? email cleanup

I'm trying to reduce size of my Act DB and backup ZIP files.

There's a folder Act\Email -there's over 4,000 files and 500 Mb of items. Zillions of "IMA" files.

Are these emails ? Can I delete without affecting integrity of main database ? I don't care about losing the emails within Act! - when I sent them through Lotus Notes, Lotus notes kept a copy on the outbound.

There's also a bunch of attachments in "Local Act! Folders" - again if I don't care about attachments, can these be safety deleted ?

When I delete these, I'll delete via Windows explorer.

OK ? Thanks for any comments.

Yes, the IMA files are the emails, see -
However, there are some issues with just deleting them. When you open a contact record in ACT!, it goes and checks each of the attachments so that it can display the appropriate icon for that file. This means that your ACT! will slow down considerably.

Also, if you decide to upgrade to a new version of ACT!, the conversion will report each of these errors.

You might need to clean up the attachment files in the History, and you can only do this with an add-on such as Oak!Check

BTW: If you're running Lotus Notes, did you know there is a version of ACT! specifically designed for Notes -
