ACT Email Addresses

I am attempting to link to my ACT database from Access. I am doing this through the link table function of Access and establishing the link as a link to a DBIV database. Overall this is working well. However, I cannot get the email address field. It is in ACT and all of the other fields appear to be linking over. I do not have the email support turned on, but wish to track email addresses. These email addresses will be critical to some functionality that is being built in Access.
