We are running ACT v6.0 on most of our PC's running XP. We have a new laptop running Windows 7. Act 6 won't load on W7 so we bought Act 11.0. This installed but we cannot get it to access our existing database. I tried doing a back up and restoring it on the laptop but it wouldn't see the back-up. Any ideas on how we can (a) get Act 6.0 to run on Windows 7 or get the 2 versions to interact together?

There is no way to get the two versions to interact together.

ACT! 6.0 sometimes works on Windows 7 (32 bit), but usually won't if it's 64 bit.

Also, you really should have ACT! 2010 for proper Windows 7 support

You can convert an ACT! 6.0 database to the current versions as per this link:

But all users accessing a database need to use the same version of ACT!
