ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version 10.0.2.191, Hotfix 1

I have been adding new tabs and fields to Act 2008 for some time and have been living with an error which makes you close down act after exiting the design screen. The error message is ' The application has encountered an error and has been shut down. Would you like to report the error.'

I have tried to resolve this by installing Act 2008 on other machines with different operating systems but still get same error.

PROBLEM

I have added several hundred new fields but have got to the point that Act will not accept any further fields. Each time I open the design screen the program crashes without any error message. Occasionally, it does present this message. 'Windows exception Handle error'.

Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this problem and had a fix?

Using latest act version on vista home premium but can also run on xp pro

running on intel core duo T5250, memory 2 gb

Most likely the layout itself has become corrupt. Do you get the same error when opening another layout?
