Act! 9 Customizing the New opportunities Quote template

Hi, I want to edit the quote template in the new opportunities. The quote template links to an Excel spreadsheet template called Quote.xlt. When I edit this the only changes that display when I run Quote from Act are the bits at the bottom Shipping and handling, Taxes etc. All the other fields revert back to being blank. It appears that the other fields in the spreadsheet are protected. Does anyone know how to unprotect these fields in Excel so they come up with the new data in Act?
(Basically I want to add some standard text at the bottom of the spreadsheet bit above the shipping and tax area in the quote template within New Opportunities)
