ACT 6 freezes as opening

As ACT!6 begins to open on my Windows XP laptop, it freezes on the first screen which then turns logo solid white once mouse moves. The only way the program will close, is to turn off the computer. Ctrl, Alt Del does nothing. It will only open if I check "Run in compatibility mode with Windows 95", then each time I open it, the tool bar goes missing. I've read how to fix that, but have to do it each time I open ACT in the Compatibility Mode.

I'd try and reinstall ACT! and make sure you also install the 6.03 update.

It shouldn't be run in compatibility mode
