I currently have 56 Act! 6.02 Regular users, six of whom are external employees who sync to one database, and 50 of whom are internal employees who manually enter data into a different database.

Due to the number of users in the larger group, am I unable to upgrade to Act! 2008 Regular? Has something changed between Act! 6.02 and Act! 2008 in regards to the number of users?

ACT! 2008 uses MS SQL Server

MS SQL Server uses a different edition for up-to-9 users and for 10+

Only ACT! 2008 Premium supports 10+ users and you'll need that version.

ACT! 6.0 used CodeBase which didn't have such a limit

MS have the same limits in all their software... eg using XP as a server.

With that number of users, I'd really suggest getting an ACT! Certified Consultant to help you with the implementation and upgrade... you'll save a lot of time and resources in the project

Thank you for the advice--I've been unsuccessful in finding a consultant through Sage's website for Ohio in the U.S., or even in adjoining states.

Did you have a look at
In Ohio, I can personally recommend:
Michael from Design R1 Software, LLC -
This is not to say the others aren't good, but I have seen some of his work.

If he can't help you, tell him to let me know.

Wow. Their website must have been having problems. Last week when I was looking it told me it couldn't find any consultants for my locale--now there are several. Thank you very much.

If you speak to Michael, tell him I said hi.

Also tell him about the glitch with the act.com site so he can let Sage know about it.
