I have ACT 2008 running on 6 machines. 3 of them are desktops and the remaining 3 are laptops. The main database is located on my machine with the rest syncing to it. I have no problems syncing up with all the desktops. When it comes to the laptops, I have only been able to get one to sync up.

I keep getting "Act is unable to connect to sync server. Make sure the main db is accepting incoming syncs and network sync service is running." That is on the remaining 2 laptops.

I have turned off the firewall on both the laptops and my machine. I have renamed the location of the remote databases to match their current location in the sync manager. These were the two solution I saw online and they have not worked.

Any help is much appreciated and if more information is needed, feel free to ask. Thank in advance for your help.

Vincent

The users are setup using remote databases.
Here is the information from Help: ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version 10.0.0.237, Hotfix 1
It is also the ACT Standard version.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

I can tell you that ACT! 10.02 (available from the downloads page) fixes many sync issues

I would try the update and see how you go.

Notes: ALL systems need to be updated as it does a schema change
