Hi All,

I have been using ACT! 2008, for the last 6 weeks, and have struggled to create the necessary reports in ACT.

I am quite proficient in Crystal Reports, but I cannot seem to get the connect right between the 2 products.

I have tried both the OLEDB defining the SQL ACT 7 server, and the ODBC - Native SQL Client, but in both instances there seems to be a login issue.

Can anyone give me some points as to what I am doing wrong?

I have looked at previous threads, but some of the links no longer seem to work.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Will

Crystal can use the OLEDB engine to access ACT! as per
Or, you can get an ACTReader account utility to access the SQL directly. Sage WILL supply one -
If you're going to use Crystal, I always recommend starting with
Comes with a bunch of cool reports to start with and they'll even do the customisation for you if needed.

Thank you Mike for your comments.

However when I try the first method, via Excel, I am getting a CoCreateInstance (CLSID_IOleDbSecurityImp) Error message when I try to contect it to the Act database.

What is the difference with regards to functionality between Crystal Reports and CrystalClear?

Regards

Will

You might need to re-build the OLEDB objects in ACTDIAG

Crystal Clear provides a bunch of standard reports designed for ACT!. If you have Crystal Reports, you can then customise them. It also uses it's own connection with the SDK to get more data available

How does one re-build the OLEDB objects in ACTDIAG?

What does it do?
