Microsoft aren't interested in that market... and what tyranny?
It's Microsoft's tyranny that make people upgrade to their new operating systems and office versions and the force every other software company into re-writes that don't add any features, but just support their products... So users are paying for development time that doesn't give them anything new.

I do not disagree with your anger at MS. However, the reality is that Office 2007 is a positive improvement over 2003, and if ACT is to stay in the market, they need to keep up with the marketplace.
When Word 2003 came out, Best were quick to offer a hotfix. I just bought ACT 2007, and if i have to wait a year and then shell out for a new version, I will greatly resent it. Office 2007 was in the works for a long time and ACT should have been prepared when they released ACT2007.
I have suffered through 2 inferior versions (7,8) of ACT that I purchased and abandoned as useless. That was tyranny, to issue defective products to dependant customers.
The current ACT version is the first where the performance and features match or are an improvement over V6.
