ACT 2007 Layout Designer 1

I am trying to change the layout to my Database using the Layout designer.

Everytime i open my layout in the layout designer it resizes my fields and makes them about 20% larger without any input from myself. So at the moment, i am on my max size and i wish to add 4 new fields. Has anyone else ever come across this?
