Hi,
I am using Act 2005 and due to difficulties we are thinking about upgrading to Act2007. Could you tell me if my problems will be solved with Act2007?
-Merging Databases: when we merge databases, what ever we choose in "merge option" we cannot import some fields (yes/no fields for instance) if contacts match. As we have a lot of Yes/no fields, this is really an issue...
-Multi field request: we would to do request in both company and contact fields (for example, we would like to select contacts working in accounting for all the company having a special business model. in reality, it would be much more complicate: at least 3 fields for each "table"). Also, we would like to see all the contacts in a selection of groups/companies. We bought an add on but it makes the computer crash up...
-Company view: will it be possible to go from a company to another of the arrows (without going on "company list")
-we are using G data internet security. It seems that we have difficulties with one computer. Are we the only one?
-We would like to have the servor version. Do you know what can be done by distant computers/persons?

Thanks in advance for your help

What do you mean you cannot import them? What happens? What are you trying to import from?

Advanced Lookup would do some of this. Which add-on?

Not sure I understand what you want to do.

Never heard of G data internet security

What server version?

I tried all kind of imports (database to database or csv format with 0/1 instead of True/False). Contacts that do not match with existing contacts are correctly imported. The others are imported without qualification (it imports only company, contact, title, country and few other fields). My way of doing things was going fine during 3 months. In January this year, I saw that there was a lot of “unqualified leads” in our main database. I thought that the person who did the import did not respect the rules. I checked by myself and I saw that the procedure was not working anymore. When I called Sage, they told me that this issue should have been solved in Act 2006! but I don’t trust them!!!

We bought “Accountcenter”. It would be preferable to have only Act as software instead of having add-ons…
With accountcenter, we could use “company” as “contact” (same toolbar, with the arrows to go from a company to the next one, advanced lookup possible). But it does not work (we had to format the computer 1 month later). We would like to know if those advantages are in Act!2007

What server version?
I was thinking about the Act! premium 2007 “for web”. I am in charge of a lot of things with Act and I won’t be located in our main office (where the server will be)

Thanks for your help

Hi there,

I'd like to add a field to the Record History dialog box. You can add fields to the main company (or contact) by going to Tools, Define Fields but this field is for the company and not available in the recordhistory dialog box.

Is there any way to do this to the Record History dialog box. If not, has anyone got any suggestions.

My problem is that I would that I want to categorize the history items later on in a crystal reports. The report will be History by Company with the history broken down into categories by this field I want to add.

I'm using Act!2005 Premium.

Any help/ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Gordon
