I am a noob with Act. We have just got the Act 10 Premium for the WEB. The only way I see to manage users, database etc it to use the web admin tool on the server.
I was hoping there was a client tool that I could use to manage users etc etc instead of having to remote to the server to accomplish this.
I looked in the manual and didn't see anything.
Perhaps I overlooked it. Help is appreciated
Thanks

Security reasons? So having to RDP to my server all the time is not a security issue. Basically only one or two people can manage the system. There is no way more than that will have access to the server which in turn increases the workload on IT guys like myself.
I would have hoped you could install some type of client app if user accounts etc are set up properly there are not any security issues that i could see with something like this. In my opinion this is a major downfall to ACT for the web.
oh well that how it is i guess

RDP has better security than http... so much less of a security issue. Any one on a LAN local to the server can have a full copy of ACT! and do the maintenance.

As an IT guy I never want users to be changing user details any way.
