acs rev 1 with rev 1 VM

Hi guys have 5 slot carrier and the 308ec that was
in slot 4 is dead so I powered down and put a 208 ec in slot 4(I only really need 6 exts to work @ this point)
I powered back up and the the 206ec lit up green
but the 6 exts do not function do I need to do
something in programing or should the system see
this card and just come back up?

Your 206 should come up and work, have you plugged right into the ports to see if it's the card or cabling. There is always a chance that the 206 is bad.

yes first thing i did is number the plugs 1-8
and what i did is plug in the first 6
a friend of mine said that puting that 206 in that
slot would throw off my number plan is that true
because the voicemail is still functioning as advertised??

If you had a 308 in slot 4 and changed it to a 206 then yes it will change your numbering on slot 5

A 308ec will not work on an ACS rel 1.

oh really !!! well there are 3 of them in this machine
and have been there since the original install!!

Do a Feature 59 and see if perhaps it has been upgraded.

Did you ever do a feature 59 on that ACS to verify the release. If it is a R1, it would be the 1st one I heard of that supported a 308 card.
