We have a Partner system installed ....we are trying
to set it up so that we can toggle an extension from going to voicmail .....program #310 is not active ...assign a
cover button on the phone ...

option 8 says there is a phone associated with mbox 15

toggle on/off
coverage on ...goes to voicemail
coverage off ...should just ring the phone x15

during the day they do not want an extension to go to voicemail so they can answer the call ....
after hours we set it up so that the auto attendant
records to mailbox 15

voicemail anwers for all the lines 24/7
is it because the lines are assigned to voicemail and have control and not extension 15

programs #206 and #208

Thank you

Phoneuser:)

my first guess would be that since they are owned by
hunt group 7 (777) they recall to the hunt knowing what
extension was called ( ie x15) ...I thought the voicemail was doing a "blind " transfer as well so it frees up the ports ...just a 4 port Partner Messaging .....its possible this can not be done with the Auto Attendant fronting calls

Did you try a manual vms cover button on ext 15 (feature 15)?

Yup, you need a VMS Cover button on Ext. 15. The lines need to be assigned to the Voice Mail Call Dist Group, through #206. They should NOT have any coverage extension in #208. The Auto Attendant will answer the calls up front, you will need to set your dial 0/timeout option to go to Ext. 15 if they hit 0 or nothing. Or, you can set Ext. 15 as the Call Answer Service Operator, then any call (even a 0-out from a mailbox) will go to Ext. 15. Also, set the Transfer Return Extension for each of the Voice Mail ports to Ext. 15, through #306-XX-15, so calls to extensions without voice mail coverage return to Ext. 15 instead of the voice mail (which won't know how to handle them at that point)
