We have an R8 processor with PMSG R7 and have the #3 selector code on the VM set to ring Hunt Group #1 which has Ext 10-11-12 in it. It is the sales group and when a caller selects option 3 - the call rings - cascading - first to Ext 10 for 4 rings - then if no answer - to Ext 11 for 4 rings - no answer onto Ext 12 for 4 rings.

How do we programm the Hunt Grp #1 so that all calls routed to the Sales Group rings all (3) extensions at the same time ... then if no answer - routes to Ext #10's mailbox?

Put the three extensions in CALLING group No. 2, which is Ext. 72.

Change the selector code to go to the group

Add mailbox 72, with a phone, phantom destination mailbox 10.

Purposely MIS-program #306 for each voice mail port to point to themselves instead of Ext. 10 as the manual states.

Calls are answered by the Auto Attendant, caller presses 3. Call transfer to 72, which rings the phones, no answer returns to the port that transferred the call, and is answered by mailbox 72. Messages left in 72 appear and light up at 10.

Sounds good!

Since HG #1 (Ext 71) was setup just for call routing from SC #3 in the Vm - why couldn't we do the same programming for Ext # 71 setup a phantom MBX #71 with Ext #10 as destination?

What is the reason the calls are cascading now when routed to HG #1 (Ext 71) - that this new programming fixes? Just curious on that?

Thanks

There are HUNT groups, and CALLING groups.

HUNT groups cascade from one extension to the next.

CALLING groups ring the extensions simultaneously.

....and have the #3 selector code on the VM set to ring Hunt Group #1........

....when a caller selects option 3 - the call rings - cascading - first to Ext 10 for 4 rings - then if no answer - to Ext 11 for 4 rings - no answer onto Ext 12 for 4 rings.....

So, which did YOU use?
