I put in a ACS R7.0 Release J and it would not hold the correct time, updated it to a release K and it also would not hold the correct time. Replaced the processor with a new one (Release K, I think it was flashed to a K) and it also won't hold the correct time. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas what may be causing this unusual problem. Other than the time - it works OK.

By "not hold the correct time", do you mean that the TOD clock deviates by a few minutes here or there or do you mean that the clock changes itself to some really strange time? [ponder]

The "J" patch uses the time stamp sent along with Caller ID info to set the TOD clock. The "K" patch loads the new daylight savings time schedule into the processor.

Today at 1:17 PM I set the clock and it remained correct for 31 minutes, changed to 05:11AM. Usually it changes to 04:XX AM. Weird!

Do you have Caller ID? If so, who is your Dial Tone provider? Even though the K patch changes the schedule, it also synchs to CID.

If you do have CID, set the time, then call from your cell phone. See if the time changes on the 2nd ring.

We have a local CLEC, that I wouldn't recommend to anyone because of the quality of their installations, who also doesn't keep the clock on their switch correct.

Touch tone Tommy, you are correct! The time does change after the second ring. Ma Bell's new CB1 service is the fault. There is a time difference of -8:36 minutes. This service comes in on a T1 and has an ADTRAN CSU/DSU. This will be interesting.

Tommy, you are one smart DUDE!
