Hi everyone.
I have a customer that has an ACS R6.0.4, PVM Card Small, Auto Attendant after 4 rings, direct extension transfer, 2 CO Lines & 4 phones.
My problem is that when a call comes in and if that caller hangs up while the AA is speaking, the call sits for about 30 seconds then transfers to ext-10. Of course it leaves a dead message in that mailbox. After that it never releases the call unless you select the line manually & hang it up. If you catch it before it transfers then of course you get the "goodbye" from the VM and I can hang up the line.

It only does it on the main line-L1. I have checked the voltages & loop current. They are in range. I have also played with the CO Disconnect timing. Tried that from 100 ms to 800 ms. Didnt help.

Anyone out there have any ideas????
I'm stumped on this one.

Thanks

You can swap Line 1 and Line 2, to see if the problem stays with the CO-1 port, or moves with the Line 1 telephone number.

It is probably a telephone company fault, perhaps that particular line is delivered through pair gain, and the other is not?

Sounds like the LEC isn't sending a positive disconnect (a momentary loss of voltage on the telephone line to alert the telephone system that the call is terminating). This is all too common on loop-start trunks that ride a T1 circuit.

Follow TTT's advice.

I think you will find that the problem stays with the telephone line....which means that the LEC will need to check their equipments' optioning.

And don't forget to change the setting back to the same value as the working line for the Open-Loop-Disconnect, if that is not the problem...

Thanks everyone for your advice. I will give it a shot. I didn't try L2 cause it isn't answered by the voice mail.

What is weird about the whole thing is that you receive a call & then hang up & it disconnects. A caller can call in & leave a message then hang up then it disconnects. The only time it doesn't hang up is when the inbound call hangs up when the AA is speaking.

Weird

It still sounds like the LEC isn't providing a positive disconnect.
