ACS R6 Processor

I am installing a ACS R6 processor and 308 on a shelf in a wall mounted rack.

The IT guy wants me to lay the processor and 308 on its side. That just does not feel right. Would that be a no no to lay it on a shelf on it's side?

Oh yes. Bad news. If something needs to be placed on a shelf, an IP Office would be the system of choice.

What negative could happen?

The modules are designed to dissipate heat by allowing cool air in at bottom and out at the top...where the power supply is...also known as the "chimney effect".
