Greetings guys!

I've got an ACS R6, and the customer keeps forgetting to put the system in Night Service mode when they go home at night.

Is there a way to SCHEDULE this to happen automatically, just like I can do with a Legend? Please tell me this is possible. It seems rediculous that this would not be supported.

Thanks!

- Joel

Well, if you're talking about changing the Automated Attendant from Day Message to Night Message, then Yes, Partner Messaging and Partner Mail can follow the weekly business schedule.

If you're talking about changing the ringing to alternate extensions when in night mode, then No, the system won't do that automatically.

Many times I have customers that use a Day and Night Message, follow the weekly business schedule to change the message, but use the Night Service button to change the number of rings before the Auto Attendant picks up the call. The message that plays is determined by Time of Day/Day of week, the number of rings is determined by the status of the Night button.

This customer has a Partner Mail R3 - I know I can change the business schedule in the voicemail unit itself, but I don't like doing that because it's difficult (or impossible?) for the customer to override.

This is useful in cases where they are having staff meetings, sales rep lunches, the ladies decide to work later on Friday's.. you know, lots of reasons to push the night service button earlier, or later than normal.

So you DID answer my question, which was NO: the ACS R6 CANNOT turn its own "Night Service" (with the green light) button on at a predetermined time.

What you have to do is set the voicemail unit to its own weekly business schedule, and be happy with that arrangement.

Am I understanding you correctly? I'm not happy, but at least I know now.. :/

Thanks 3^T!

Hi Joel,
Exactly. Have the customer use a sticky note to remind themselves. Besides, a Legend is the same senario. One way or the other.
There is a "both" setting on the new Partner Mail units, I don't think the R3 can follow switch and schedual.
