Hello, I just upgraded my shop ACS to r6.0. No problems. I am trying to access the remote access port # 76, all i get is "Connected 14400" about 15 seconds later it times out, saying unable to connect.
Hi Ron,
Were you able to connect before the upgrade? I haven't had any problems connecting to the R6 cards.
Things to check are :
1) Are you set up for 8N1?
2) Try to reduce your maximum connect speed.
3) Are you connecting directly from a system extension port? If not, try to connect on site, you may have poor line quality.
4) Are you running XP? Many have troubles with this OS. I use Win 98. There is a patch on the Avaya site for Win XP.
5) You will need to have a password set on the system before connecting (#730)
6) Extension 76 needs automatic privacy set, and should be in hunt group 6 if you want to hit it from an auto attendant (I know that is not your problem).
I just found out that my RPD station is being upgraded and will have Win XP on it, so I may be in the same boat as you shortly.

Can you tell me what version of the remote admin software that you're using? I've heard and read of problems trying to connect to R6 systems with R5 remote admin software. I ask as I've just upgraded a customer site to R6.
Hi thicks70,
No problem connecting with a previous version of remote admin. software. You will get an "unknown system" message. I don't know if it will let you program and upload or weather you are just limited to the previous release features. Given that the new version is available on the Avaya web site, I'd download it if I were you.
Ron, how are you doing with your connect problem?
1.) It did not work with a previous release. (Locally)
2.) I tried connecting thru ma-bell and it worked fine.! Know I am puzzled!! won't work intcm 76(internal as a station) will work going out on a line..
3.)I am using r.6 software. On XP Pro.
Well I must admit, I finally gave up trying to use the Remote Admin Software for the Partner systems. I tried on the r5.0 and now again on the 6.0 and I get the same exact message. It connects at 1400.....confirms connection and then times out or says: "unable to read data" or some variation of that. I tried on several different pc's in our office. One is using XP...the rest are using W98. As for that Avaya website......lets just say that I had no grey hair before I logged on to that beauty. So I just gave up all together. I have unloaded/reloaded it many times on all different PC's. I don't know of too many others that have had much luck either.
Hi All,
Just had an R 6.0 site I cannot log in to. The system worked fine before it was installed (could log in, up & down load translations). I found the system to be noisy on site, on intercom & co lines. I will research this further (shield behind system) and let you know.
FoneDude66, I have installed RA on probably 6-7 computers at work and they all run fine. It's already saved a customer, and us, once on a full translation. Several hours travelling have been eliminated as well by remote programming. There must be something small keeping it from working. It does sound like you have a line noise issue, low levels possibly. I agree that the Avaya website is painfull. I complained to the MIS department and they e-mailed R6 to me. Around 10 Meg & I'm on dialup.

I have the same problems as FoneDude (nutty). I have tried different releases of ACS tried remotely, tried locally and tried EVERY speed on my modem. UNABLE to connect. Both modems talk to each other, but after 30 seconds it says unable to connect.
Hi all. I am a vendor and I am DESPERATELY trying to get R6 software and I cannot find it anywhere. If someone could post it or offer a link to it I would greatly appreciate it.
I was supposed to demo the system to a potential client only to discover the the Avaya site does not have it.
