ACS R6.0/Cell phone connect 1

I am interested in using the Cell Phone connect feature with the ACS R6.0 processor. The book says you must have a T1 card installed. Why is this? Is their a way to get around this by using the basic analog pots lines? I'm assuming you must be feed the processor with a T1 line from the telephone company.

Cell Phone Connect provides supervision to the Partner - so if you don't answer your cell phone, (or your cell phone's voice mail doesn't answer), the Partner will stop ringing your cell and send the call to your internal voice mail.

POTS lines do not provide the supervision.

You can do Remote Call Forward with POTS lines instead, and just let your cell's voice mail take messages if you don't answer.

Can I remote call forward the extension?

What I am looking for is, Extension 12 is out of the office. He wants to have his calls to his extension (Ext 12) forwarded to his cell phone. He wants the receptionist at Extension 10, transfer an incoming caller to Extension 12's cell phone with out the receptionist giving out his/her cell phone number. I this possible?

Sure - just allow Ext. 12 RCF - #322-12-1, put the cell phone number into one of its personal speed dials, like number 99, add a forward-12-99 button (feature 11-12-99) and turn it on.

The receptionist can press Transfer 12 to send the call to the cell phone, or Feature 14 (VM Trans) and 12 to send the call to voice mail.

Remember that the forwarded call will use 2 lines, and the volume level will be less than normal because it's just a conference call.
