ACS R3.0 - Extensions on Processor Don't Work 1

I have an ACS R3.0 processor, VS 5.0, and 206E expansion module. System was working flawlessly until today. I can no longer use any of the extensions on the ACS unit for line access or intercom - all I get is static. However, extensions on the 206E work fine, voice mail works fine for ALL extensions, and I can still access system programming on the ACS from extension 10, even though I cannot use it for conversations.

I have tried powering off and back on again several times. Once or twice, I was able to get 3-5 minutes of usage on extension 10 before the static came back. Most of the time, however, resetting does no good.

Any suggestions?

Makes sense. UPS went bad, so Partner system may have powered off and on during a power outage or brownout. Any suggestions on getting it fixed?

Static on extension ports is the most common hardware issue I run across in the field, although not so much on the ACS as the older Partners (maybe this is just age-related). The static is not usually related to power-outages/surges as it is to "getting-worse-over-time" scenarios. We are on the west coast and moisture may be a factor. Our only solution has been to replace the card with a new/remanufactured card. Bummer that in your case it's the processor!

Sudden failure. It doesn't seem to be the 206 type failure. I'm sure someone can suggest a service solution. If the processor can't be swapped out for service, you may need to purchase another pvision :-( .

Thank you mrpeabody and itphoneguy for your responses. I'll pursue getting it repaired or replaced.

By the way, is there any upgrade or "trade-up" available for the 206 R4.1 processor? I have one that has seen very little use, as I replaced it with the ACS when I purchased PM VS 5.0.

Thanks again for your help.
