I HAVE A CUST. WITH NEW R-7 91J AND THE YEAR (07) SEEMS TO CHANGE TO (06). I HAVE CHANGED IT TWICE BACK TO YEAR 07. IT SCREWS UP THE VOICEMAIL (PC LRG) BY GIVING THE WRONG DAY WHEN CHECKING MSGS.MY SUPPLIER THINKS IT MIGHT BE THE CO SENDING THE WRONG DATE ON CALLER ID.BUT CO SAYS THEY DON"T SEND DATE. ANY HELP.

First, please turn off your caps-lock!

CID does not send the year, just the month and day, along with the time and number info.

R7's of a certain revision have a problem with Power Failures, which has been patched, but seems to affect the Year when power is restored. Doesn't seem to be a new patch available yet.

Right after I flashed my Partner ACS R7 up to the "J" level, I noticed that the year was wrong. Ever since I corrected it, it has been spot on.

Is your system powered by a UPS? If not, it might be worth purchasing one to see if the problem stops.

To check if it is a power issue. "POOR MANS" "AARENOT"S" power failure testing device. I should put out an alarm clock with a power strip built in for this, and patent it.

Plug a power strip in, then the ACS into the power strip , then a cheap alarm clock that goes to blinking midnight every time you lose power into the same power strip. If you notice the clcok is blinking midnight, you have a power issue. Some alarm clocks can alarm on repowering to notify you.

Might also try turning off auto DST feature since it does not work on the ACS anyway.
If it does not come from the factory, or from my supplier with the feature already in place, then it just doesn't have the feature as far as I am concerned. I am not buying some card to download the patch to, spending my time downloading, and transferring, then going around to patch these, or even spending the time to patch the ACS before I program it. If it did not have the feature in it's firmware when I got it, then it did not have the feature when I installed it. I am not going to upgrade the ACS unless I am being paid to do so. Auto DST is not a feature that is really sold in specifics to the customer, and I am betting if it is not turned on, the ACS cannot change the date/time/etc.
Once this unit is installed, and the documents for the unit do not include the patch upgrade as part of the install procedure it is Avaya's problem. They can pay someone to fix it, other than turning off Auto DST.

OMG they might have to learn to change the time twice a year, or be walked through the change over the phone twice a year for 60 seconds each time. That is less time then it takes to do the patch in the systems probable lifetime. 2 X /yr for 15 years = 30 minutes on the phone, or email the instructions to the customer.

Just to satify my curiosity, turn off auto DST does the year still change? Also, is this the patched release that has this issue only? If so, turn off DST, or do not upgrade w/patch.
