Hello,

I have an issue that my message light keeps coming on. It appears that extension 9992 (system) is the cause. I can't set this extension to answer only and I really dont know what it's for. Any suggestions for me? The only messages I want to be left are on the individual extensions I program. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Scotta98,
That mail box is the general mailbox for the second attendant. Change the target extension to someone who will look after it. Also, change the "Zero / timeout" action to point to that same extension. By default, it is ext 10.
That should help out the receptionist. I do not think you can disable the general mailboxes.

Thanks for the response. I get the same thing with box 9991 but when I check them, there is no message. I can get rid of the message light but it appears again at midnight. Only way I can get rid of it is to re-initialize the box. Any other suggestions please?

If there is no message in 9991, that is not the box that is lighting it. There are 4 general mailboxes, one for each auto attendant. 9991, 9992, 9993, and 9994. Check each on e of them to see which one has messages. Then change the dial 0/timeout option for each of the auto attendants to go where you want it to go. Remember that you can have the general mailboxes light ANY extension, even one without its own mailbox (like a break room, or conference room)
