Not being an Avaya Business Partner, I don't have any inside information.
But I will offer that given all of the problems that have dogged the R7, I would not be surprised if Avaya waited another year before releasing the R8 (assuming that there will be an R8).
Avaya has had to spend a good amount of time coming up with fixes for problems in the R7. Those problems should have been resolved before the processor was ever released.
Given all that has transpired with the R7, many Avaya Business Partners have stopped selling the R7 in favor of the R6 and will be reluctant to purchase and sell future releases of the Partner ACS until they have been proven bug free.
Rumors are still swirling that the One-X is being groomed to replace the Partner ACS, although at this time, the One-X cannot be expanded as much as the Partner ACS.
Avaya claims that they have no plans to kill the Partner ACS but that's what they said about the Merlin Magix and we all know what happened.
