As I posted in a previous thread, I had a problem with the newer series 2 telephone sets when on speakerphone with the MIC open, room echo was collecting digits and hence the caller would get a incorrect number even though the display screen would show the correct number dialed.
Just to prove the trouble, I placed a temporary piece of paper tape over each sets microphone for a test a for about a month now the users report that the trouble has not happened since.
My thought is to go backwards and replace the new series 2 sets with the older [ refurb ] EURO 18D sets since it is my understanding that the MIC's in the older sets were not as sensitive.
Anyone have any input other than my idea??..I dont really want to take each set apart and replce just the MIC which I know I can purchase from a supplier.
The station users will never get used to muting the MIC when dialing a call so that is not a option.
Any suggestions??
Thanks
