I have an ACS 6. When I put it in a 5 slot chassis that I think is good the LED never comes on. When I turn the power swich off, I can hear a relay click, so I think power is getting to the modules. When I plug the power cord into the ACS 6 directly the LED comes on. Someone told me that the ACS 6 would NOT work in older 5 slot chassis. Is that true? If so how can I tell if my chassis is compatable?
Thanks

Even though I don't recommend using an older 5 slot it should work. Did you break the tab of the front of the slot were the ACS plugs in?

ive used them in the old 5 slot carriers , Ive used them evan with the tab in place .( I just deinstalled one I put in a couple of years ago and the tab was still on unit worked fine )

definatley a carrier problem

did you check the fuse ?

I did not break out the tab. I will check the tab and the fuse tomorrow.

what I usually do is cut the tab off with a jigsaw .

The 5 slot is an Partner plus. I could not find a tab to cut, but I did find the problem. The ACS 6 was sent in for a bad power supply. Got it back about 4 months ago and let it sit on the shelf. Turns out when they replaced the power supply the one they put in didn't quite fit so they used some hot glue. It had come loose and the power connection to the back of the module was pushed in so it didn't make contact with the power on the chassis. I drilled a hole in the clam shell and used a screw to secure the power supply. It working now. Thanks for you advise.
