Acrrobat 6 won't create pdfs

I installed Acrobat 7 for evaluation purposes...uninstalled it at the end of the trial and reinstalled v.6--did all 4 updates [to v.6.0.4] and now can't get it to create pdfs from any application [even when printing to Acrobat pdf as a printer].

Help! I need this to work...any ideas?

One thing to check is do you have distiller installed.
Open the printed post script file with it by right clicking on the printed file and choose open with
When that box opens it should list distiller and a program. If not then brouse to the acrobat folder and you will see the distiller folder. chose the distiller exe file. Then at the bottom of the window you will see a check box which says to always use this prgram to open this file. This should set everything back to automaticlly create your pdf from a program or when you print a file.

If this doesn't fix the problem then give a little more info on what happens

It doesn't get to the .ps stage...I just get a printer error.
What kills me is it worked for over a year...I unin- and rein-stalled, and nothing! [It will open already created pdfs, just won't create them or function as a printer]
