Acronyms/Titles for Contacts?

I am in the process of cleaning up our database. We've had GM for many years and recently upgraded to the SQL version.

I am wondering how others handle the acronyms for contacts, ie: Jack Spratt, Esquire or Joe Schmo, CPM. As it is currently entered, the "esquire" or "cpm" are considered the last name and not an acronym.

I am looking for suggestions on how else to handle this nomenclature.

I leave that sort of stuff out of the contact field for this very reason... If they're a CPA, I put that in the TITLE field, if they like Esquire after their name, well that's just plain silly.. If they insist on being referred to al the III'rd well, that's kinda silly too, IMHO...
