Acrobat standard reader 5.0 - plugin missing

System is Win98, Acrobat 5.0 reader only.
1. "plugin missing" prevents downloads of pdf's from web
2. Adobe website only seems to have plugins for 5.0.5
3. The Adobe website Acrobat 5.05 update doesnt work for me because it cannot find my Acrobat reader which is installed in my D partition(C and D partitions installed)
Thanks for your help.
