I am using Twain to scan documents and then using Acrobat Pro to OCR the PDF file.
I have to use the slow pixel type of TWAIN_GRAY in order for the OCR to recognize the text. It does work, but it scans very slowly comparted to TWPT_BW. Do I have to use TWAIN_GRAY in order for the OCR to successfully recognize all the texts?
my other alternative for pixel type is TWPT_BW TWAIN_PALETTE TWAIN_RGB TWPT_BW

With most OCR engines... it is better to have a black and white tiff image at 200 dpi. Why you are saying that your tiff has to be grey scale for your engine to recognize the text... I don't know
