Acrobat IO Exeption Actuate report cant be viewed or printed

Hello everybody,
every report works just fine except the poprint_act report. And then again that report runs fine if i go over Select Action- Run reports. Its only the print button on the screen that obviously does not work right. If i click on that button the Internet explorer will open a new window and ask me if i want to print the report or not. whatever option i do choose here the window will be frozen for like 5 / 6 minutes and then i get the error: IO exception time out from the Acrobat Reader. And on the webserver i get the error 404 file not found. If i copy the path from the error message in the webserver and paste it in the address part of the internet explorer the report will show up just fine. The instance however will be created and is always viewable no matter what i do.

We are using:
Maximo 5.1 with the latest patch (02).
Actuate 5 Service Pack 2
Windows 2000 ( it happens on Server and on Wks)
Internet explorer 6.0, SP1
Acrobat Reader 5.0

if anybody experienced this before or has any ideas on what it is please let me know.
