Acrobat 9 - Document Comparing

Hi folks. We've recently upgraded to CS4 here and have encountered a problem with document comparing. Previously, it was possible to compare huge (150+ page) documents easily. Since installing the new version, i've not been able to compare even 10 pages at a time unless I use the "scanned documents" setting. Unfortunatley, this appears to flag up changes to words as a change to an image.

Is there a way of gettuing the system to work more or less like it did in CS2? Any help much appreciated!
