Acrobat 6 is not converting all of Word document

I just installed Acrobat 6 Professional and am trying to convert Word documents to PDF. I am getting errors and the whole document is not converting. For example, instead of the table of contents, I get this { TOC \o "1-3" \u } - instead of the page numbers at the bottom I get - - { PAGE } - on every page. Number of Characters: 50,559 (approx.) -- MAYBE I HAVE THE DISTILLER SETTINGS WRONG? IF ANYONE CAN HELP, I'D APPRECIATE IT. THANKS!
