ACPIEC Error

I have a EMachine laptop that keeps getting this error acpiec ec hardware did not respond. This happens on startup and shutdown but during shutdown the pc freezes. The laptop has all current MS updates and is running XP Home.

It stopped the error but the laptop still won't shutdown.

None that is strange.

See if there is a BIOS update for your system and then update the BIOS...

The shutdown problem, may or may not be related to the error...

copy the following to notepad and save it out as shutdown.reg then double click it and allow it to merge with the REGISTRY...
