Hi!,

We have an existing Option61 (not C or CS), and it's interfaced with an existing Cisco router through E1/R2 using an ACODXXXX so users can call the IP phones.

We have a another Cisco router and again planning to interface it with the Option61 thru another E1/R2, is there a possiblity to use just 1 (one) ACODXXXX for the 2 (two) IP routers so users from the Nortel wouldn't have to use 2 (two) access codes?

Also, if this is possible, can we split the E1/R2 30 channels on the Nortel to use 15 channels for the existing IP router and the other 15 channel for the new IP router?

Thanks!

The access code "ACOD" you have mentioned, is linked only to the RDB in LD 16 for the existing Cisco trunks. The existing trunks can be assigned to different RDB's but they would have different ACOD's.

The problem would be connecting to different routers on the same Nortel card.

As for using just the one access code, the easiest way is to change the existing ACOD to a different number and then creating a new RLB in LD 86 with the Cisco designated RDB's in different entries and then in LD 87 to create a new CDP entry either a TSC or a DSC of the original ACOD and placing the newly added RLB in that entry.

Thanks so much for the quick help.

In this case we will be using 2 (two) E1/R2 card, will the 1 (one) ACOD procedure be the same?

Again.. thanks!

Yes, a steering code entry can be assigned to route to a RLB in LD 86. The RLI can have loads of different routes, all in a different entry. The routes can be using different protocols such as ISDN, COT, etc.

From looking at the power point presentation, it appears OK. I'm not that up to date with the PRI card you are using, but the programming looks to be OK.
